Oh, my! It is cold outside and with the wind, it’s really cold outside!! Perfect weather for staying inside and sewing. I’ve done that this week and have the retreat mystery quilt ready for it’s final border. Great pattern! Wish I’d done better with the fabric selection! Now I need to get a little creative to pull it all together.
I want to thank Sue, Kathleen, and all the Seward gals and friends for planning and carrying out a wonderful retreat! It was great seeing old friends and new retreaters coming together and laughing, sharing and planning future get togethers. And thanks to all the participants for their courtesy extended during announcements and show and tell times. We sure saw some fabulous projects!! Nancy Matthew showed samples for the guild classes that will be offered this summer in June, August, and September. Look for more class info from Nancy later in this newsletter.
This summer there is also The Kenai River Quilt Show in Nikiski on July 24-25, 2026. They have previously asked for anyone interested in presenting a technique during the show to contact them.
On April 11 we have our annual meeting at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. We have two challenges to present that day. One is the 12”x12” finished quilt from the theme “twisted.” The other is the red, white, and blue quilt inspired by the celebrations for our country’s 250th birthday. Wow! Two more reasons to stay inside and quilt!! The education committee also has an inspiring presentation too.
See you in April! Stay warm and safe!
