In December, our potluck was a highlight, as usual. We always enjoy eating together and sharing what we've made. Even though three of our members were dressed in Grinch T-shirts, the overall mood remained positive, and we had fun.
The Kachemak Center where we usually meet was closed for renovation throughout January and half of February, so we met in the basement of the Pratt Museum for six weeks. The museum staff kindly helped us set up tables, electrical connections, and a space heater. It worked out fine for us, but we are glad to be back in our usual “digs”, freshly painted with a new ceiling, flooring, and lights.
This winter several of our members have had surgery and hospitalizations. They have had trying times with scheduling issues, recovery times, and unexpected problems. I won’t mention names but remember to reach out to those who you know.
The February retreat at Lands’ End was our big highlight in February. Though some of us were unable to attend, we have heard of the fun times, the show and tell, plus the drama of Thursday afternoon’s wind and waves at high tide. We are glad that everyone was safe, and that all went well from the Wednesday set-up through Sunday noon.
Take care and see you at the spring meeting!
